Narrow-winged Metalmark (Apodemia multiplaga Schaus) Wing span: 1 1/8 - 1 15/16 (28 -33 mm). Identification: Forewings pointed. Brown with white spots and checks (rare). Life history: Not reported. Flight: March - October (several flights). Caterpillar hosts: Not reported. Adult food: Flower nectar for Cordias and probably other plants. Habitat: Open woods and second growth in tropical lowlands. Range: South Texas as rare stray south to northwestern Costa Rica. |
