Antillean Dagger Wing (Marpesia eleuchea [Hübner])

Wing span: 2 5/8 - 3 1/4 inches (6.5 - 8.2 cm).

Identification: Forewing apex extended. Hindwing with a long thin tail. Upperside orange with three black lines, the central line sharply angled inward.

Life history: Not reported.

Flight: All year in the West Indies.

Caterpillar hosts: Figs.

Habitat: Tropical woodlands.

Range: West Indies. Strays occassionly to Florida.
