Scree Alpine (Erebia anyuica Kurentzov)

Wing span: 1 9/16 - 1 5/8 inches (4.0 - 4.2 cm).

Identification: Male dark brown, female lighter. Underside of forewing with a row of red-orange dots with ting black points. Underside of hindwing with pattern indistinct without a median band. Hindwing covered with long gray or gray-brown hairs.

Life history: Not reported.

Flight: One brood from late June to middle July.

Caterpillar hosts: Not reported.

Habitat: Dry rocky sites in Arctic and alpine habitats.

Range: Holarctic. Restricted to northern Alaska and northern Yukon in North America.
