Wing span: 1 3/4 - 2 1/4 inches (4.5 - 5.7 cm).

Identification: A large brown skipper with heavy orange overscaling; forewing with group of three large translucent gold spots.

Life history: Not reported.

Flight: April-May and October-November in South America.

Caterpillar hosts: Not reported.

Range: Costa Rica south to Brazil. A rare stray in southern Texas.
