Arctic White

Mustard White (Pieris angelika Eitschberger)

Wing span: 1 1/4 - 1 5/8 inches (3.3 - 4.2 cm).

Identification: Males white to grayish white; females pale yellow to grayish yellow. Male with black at outer edge of wing, particularly at vein endings. Female with two fuzzy black spots on forewing and black scaling along veins.

Life history: Unknown.

Flight: One flights from late May to late July.

Caterpillar hosts: Unknown but probably in the family Brassicaceae.

Habitat: Moist woodlands and alpine tundra.

Range: Alaska, Yukon, and western Northwest Territories.
