Geology

This seemingly local site has a treasure chest of information on beaches,
beach formation, and the historical study of beaches. Be sure to check
out the section on how the coastal configuration of the New York Bight
has changed through history. It's why you shouldn't build your house upon
the sand.

state laws relevant to beach protection, and ways you can help to preserve

This society with many local chapters has news related to beaches and

is a great site for learning about beaches, their formation, and environmental
problems facing our beaches including erosion, pollution, and human impact.
Coping
with Beach Erosion. UNESCO. Coping with Beach Erosion is an online
introduction and manual on beach erosion. The manual starts with an introduction
and goes on to such topics and the basics of beach erosion, coping with
high seas and hurricanes, conserving reefs, and concludes with information
on the physical and economic aspects of beach erosion. Recommended.

erosion. The segment includes basic information on beach erosion and gives

Oceanographic
Products and Services Division. National Ocean Service. Prediction
of tides is central in beach preservation and restoration. This NOAA site
