White Wood Aster (Eurybia divaricata)

Identification: Ray flowers white and few in number, disk flowers are yellow. Composite flowers arranged in flat-topped clusters. Leaves heart-shaped at the base and stalked, outer margin toothed. Plant 1 to 3 feet in height.

Distribution: New England, westward to Ohio and Tennessee, southward to Georgia and Alabama.

Habitat: White Wood Aster is woodland species in both wet and dry environments.

Flowering Period: July to October.
