Who is behind Nearctica?

Nearctica was founded by Dr. Robert W. Poole and Dr. Patricia Gentili who have over fifty combined years in research and teaching at the university and government level. Robert W. Poole received his doctorate from Cornell University, was on the faculty of Brown University, and worked as a research scientist for the Systematic Entomology Laboratory at the National Museum of Natural History for 15 years. He has also been on the editorial board of the journals Ecology and Ecological Monographs, an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland, and a research associate of the Smithsonian Institution. His research specialties are in insect systematics and theoretical ecology and he is the author of 12 research textbooks and monographs as well as the usual journal articles.
