Leucania pilipalpis (Grote)
Diagnosis: A large species of Leucania from Florida. Forewing color a dusty gray-brown. Discal dot a black dot surrounded by a lighter circle and followed and preceded for a dull, dark brown patch. Upper margin (costa) of forewing accented with dull white. Apex of forewing pointed. Distribution (See map below): Limited to Florida. Identification Quality: Excellent Habitat: A subtropical species, but no specific information on habitat is available. Foodplants: Dactylis glomerata (Poaceae)* (Godfrey, 1972, U.S. Department of Agriculture Technical Bulletin, 1450: 89.) * lab reared, possibly not a natural foodplant.
