Fungi

General

This page contains general links to sites on fungi as well as groups of fungi other than the Basidiomycota. General introductions to the fungi may be found in some of the links listed below or in a basic review from Nearctica. The Basidiomycota, or true mushrooms, and all other things related to mushrooms are contained on a separate page. The reader should be aware that great changes in the classification of the fungi have occurred in the past several years and that the general links contain conflicting information about what groups make up the fungi. The slime molds (Myxomycetes) and water molds (Oomycetes) are included in the protists by many, if not most, fungi specialists.
