Grotella grisescens Barnes and McDunnough 1910 Grotella grisescens Barnes and McDunnough, 1910, Jour. New York Ent. Soc., 18: 157. Diagnosis: Grotella grisescens is the least known species of the genus and has been collected only from Deming, New Mexico. The forewing has a lower layer of green-gray scales which are overlain with a thin covering of slightly shiny yellow-white scales. All forewing maculation is absent. Fresh specimens (if there were any) would probably appear to be a powerdy yellow-white. The hindwing is dull light gray without any other maculation. Wing length: mean = 9.67 mm, standard deviation = 0.23 mm, n = 3. The three known specimens were collected in early September Distribution: This species is known only from the type locality in southwestern New Mexico. .
